HOW LENGGONG GOT ITS NAME?

According to the stories of the mouth, allegedly in the past there was a Semang to cut large wood per tree. According to the story of the tree of four or five pemelok. A longer story, supposedly originally derived name Lenggong is because the place as if the wall or terlengkong by hills and mountain ranges. So the place is known by the name "Lengkong".  Finally, changes are pronunciation"Lengkong" it becomes "Lenggong".

RAJA MUDA NAZRIN BRIDGE 


·         The official opening ceremony was performed by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Sultan Azlan Muhibbudin Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Yussuf Izzuddin Shah Ghafarullahu-lah.
·         The Raja Permaisuri Perak, Tuanku Bainun and Raja Muda Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah also attended the ceremony.
·         Raja Muda Nazrin Bridge spans 742 metres.
·         It is the longest bridge amongst the nine bridges built in Negeri Perak.

LATA KEKABU WATERFALL


·         Hutan Lipur Lata Kekabu is situated in Bintang Hijau Forest Reserve.
·         A scenic waterfall of 50 meter high with a clean river flowing through this area
·         This is area is suitable for taking fresh air, relaxing and for a picnic during weekends.
·         Facilities such as camp site, multipurpose hall, Surau and bathroom are provided for visitors who want to have a long stay or who want to carry out educational and recreational activities.

TASIK CHENDEROH 

Chenderoh Lake is a natural lake located near the royal town of Kuala Kangsar and archaeological site of Lenggong. It has a waterfall that is surrounded by a forest reserve abundant with a range of tropical trees. About 3km from the banks of the lake, there are recreational facilities such as campsites. Do take a jungle walk to enjoy the lush tropical rainforest. 

LENGGONG ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM



The Lenggong Archeological Museum is also known as the Kota Tampan Archaeological Museum. Lenggong is located on what used to be an oil palm estate covering 8.7 acres. The building settlement was selected according to site significance, which was a paleothic-era archaeological site that existed 31,000 years B.C. Besides exhibiting Kota Tampan excavational items and artifacts related to it, it also displays the reconstruction of 
the Kota Tampan excavational site.
Museum collections consist of excavational artifacts and items of Kota Tampan and those related to it. The museum’s permanent exhibitions are divided into three categories covering the Kota Tampan Excavational Site Gallery, Lenggong Pre-Historic Gallery and the Human Civilization Gallery including important findings of the Lenggong Valley stone paraphernalias from the Bukit Jawa, Kg. Temelong and Bukit Bunuh Paleolithic Age. One fascinating and unique arfifact is the 10,000-year old Perak Man skeleton.
